Primary Stages just held their annual Gala last night, November 3, 2014 at 583 Park Avenue. The event celebrated the company's 30th anniversary and honor Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Margulies and award-winning producer, Julian Schlossberg. The Honorary Gala Co-Chairs are Brian d'Arcy James, Laura Linney, Elaine May, and Susan Stroman. The evening featured performances and tributes by Tony nominee Nick Cordero(performing from Bullets over Broadway), Charles Busch, Judy Gold, David Ives, the creators of In Transit, Tony winner Frank Langella, Elaine May, Tony winner Billy Porter, Marlo Thomas, Rachel York, and surprise guests. Miramax, the global film and television producer and distributor, along with the film's producers AntColony Films and Brightlight Pictures announced today the start of principal photography on the supernatural thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax starring Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey, The Fall), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Need for Speed, Triple Nine) and Sarah Gadon (Dracula Untold, The Amazing Spider-man 2).

Tony-winner and premier actress of the American stage Marian Seldes, 86, died peacefully at her home today after an extended illness. Her brother Timothy Seldes made the announcement.
MTC School of Performing Arts Presents Master Class with Broadway's Kevin Duda

Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) School of Performing Arts will be presenting a series of Master Classes for young performers who are interested in learning from Broadway professionals. The first in the series focuses on Musical Theatre Audition Technique, and will feature Kevin Duda, from the original Broadway cast of the musical sensation 'The Book of Mormon' and currently appearing on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning 'Beautiful: The Carol King Musical.' The Master Class will take place on Sunday, October 19 from 10am-12:30pm and will take place at MTC, 509 Westport Avenue (behind Jones New York and Nine West Outlet) in Norwalk, CT.
