BWW Reviews: All-Star Roster Brings the Bard to Fenway Park

It was a winning night at Fenway Park for the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and the hometown fans as they celebrated with an all-star roster for SHAKESPEARE AT FENWAY. The one-night event had comedy, tragedy, and some extra excitement (not unlike the Red Sox) for a great start to CSC's 20th anniversary season.

Arthur Miller's DEATH OF A SALESMAN is sixty-five years old, but unlikely to face the same fate as its tragic protagonist Willy Loman. With Janie E. Howland's marvelously evocative set, Gail Astrid Buckley's period-appropriate costumes, Karen Perlow's lighting effects, and Dewey Dellay's brilliant original compositions, Artistic Director Spiro Veloudos guides us across the bridge to the era of the play. Strong performances abound, but Paula Plum and Kelby T. Akin excel as Loman's wife and prodigal son.

Is s/he easy-going, able to take direction, and comfortable around strangers? Bring your pooch out to Bark Place today, May 18th to audition with Larry Coen, playing Launce in our 2013 Free Shakespeare on the Common production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona. We're looking for medium to large-sized dogs to interview with Larry to determine which barkers have that special 'it' quality that we know will make a successful 'Crab.'
