Crossroads Theatre Company will pay homage to the power, glory and struggles of women both famous and not in its upcoming 2016-17 season announced by Producing Artistic Director Marshall Jones III.

In Episode 415 of 'Something New' -- a musical theatre podcast that interviews diverse artists and premieres original songs -- award-winning songwriter Joel B. New sat down with Devin Ilaw. Devin Ilaw is a performer, musician, music director, and vocal coach. He can currently be seen making his Broadway debut in LES MISERABLES, now playing through September 4th. Favorite credits include the 25th anniversary tour of LES MISERABLES, MISS SAIGON, BERNSTEIN'S MASS, WEARING BLACK, and THE KING AND I. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon.

SHUFFLE ALONG will play its final Broadway performance today, July 24, 2016, the day six-time Tony-winning star Audra McDonald was already set to depart the production for a multi-month maternity leave. SHUFFLE ALONG began performances on March 15, 2016 and officially opened on April 28 at the Music Box Theatre. It will have played 38 previews and 100 regular performances by the time it ends. Though somewhat familiar with and already an admirer of actor/vocalists Carpathia Jenkins and Alton Fitzgerald White, I was, until tonight, unaware of the apparently prolific musician, songwriter, librettist, and educator Louis Rosen. Rosen's Dream Suite, which occupied the second part of this June 28 show at Birdland, unearths the music of poems by American poet, social activist, novelist, and playwright Langston Hughes (1902 -1967).

Capathia Jenkins and Alton Fitzgerald White were featured in the Broadway at Birdland concert series on Monday, June 27, celebrating the Di-tone Records release of the acclaimed song cycle, Dream Suite: Songs in Jazz and Blues, by award-winning composer Louis Rosen, on poems by Langston Hughes.
