Uptown Players, a professional theatre group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced its programming for the 2nd annual Dallas Pride Performing Arts Festival. From September 6 - 15, 2012, Uptown Players will present a 10-day festival of plays, musicals and cabaret acts celebrating Dallas Gay Pride.

Bay Street Theatre presents the second production of its 2012 Mainstage Season, MEN'S LIVES, which opened officially last Saturday evening, July 7, 2012. The play was written by Joe Pintauro; based on the book by Peter Matthiessen; directed by Harris Yulin. The show runs through Sunday, July 29. Check out photos from opening night below!

The first installment in this series is the 2011 Twentieth Century Fox film Margaret, written and directed by Residency Five Playwright-in-Residence Kenneth Lonergan, tonight, July 10th at 7:00 p.m. in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

For the 16th consecutive year, the Alley Theatre is providing young playwrights the chance to improve and expand their writing skills with its summer program, Houston Young Playwrights Exchange (HYPE).

Florida Studio Theatre announces the second show of its Summer season, Lanford Wilson's Talley's Folly, which begins performances in FST's Keating Theatre (1241 N. Rising Phoenix Rep (Daniel Talbott, Artistic Director) will host an event to launch the newly published CINO NIGHTS: Plays from Rising Phoenix Rep, edited by Daniel Talbott and Addie Johnson and with a foreword by Todd London, on Thursday, June 28th at 6:00 p.m. at The Drama Book Shop

The New York Times is reporting that Alec Baldwin will return to Broadway in the Spring of 2013 in a new production of OPRHANS, to be directed by Tony-winner Daniel Sullivan. There is no word yet on a theatre or additional cast members for the production.

Producers Carole Black and Pat Mitchell announced today that EMOTIONAL CREATURE, the new play written by Tony Award®-winning playwright, performer, activist, and The Vagina Monologues author Eve Ensler, will get a New York premiere this fall.

Signature Theatre (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) just announced casting for the world premiere of HEARTLESS by Sam Shepard and directed by Daniel Aukin. The production runs August 7 through September 16, 2012 with an August 27 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Leigh Silverman, Carolyn Cantor, Jean-Michele Gregory and Cape Cod Theatre Project's Artistic Director Hal Brooks will be developing new plays this summer with The Cape Cod Theatre Project.
