Output Launches New No. 19 Social Experiment DJ Residency Today

No. 19 Social Experiment is launching a new DJ residency today, March 21 at the much-respected Output nightclub. The inaugural Brooklyn edition of the No. 19 Social Experiment features Art Department, the critically acclaimed brainchild of Kenny Glasgow and No. 19 label owner Jonny White, with UK's Eric Volta who just released his stunning 'Blood Burgundy' EP on No. 19, and Brooklyn's own Cameo Culture. In the Panther Room is soulful house music legend Osunlade and No. 19 label co-owner Nitin. The forthcoming No. 19 Social Experiment dates will include a rotating cast of special guests to help celebrate the label's five year anniversary.

The Pacific Symphony Presents Their 2014 SUMMER FESTIVAL, 7/4-8/30

Summer is just around the corner and families are already thinking about packing picnics and heading out to Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine for five music-infused evenings under the stars with Pacific Symphony. Presented by Mercedes-Benz, the Symphony's 2014 Summer Festival explodes with the annual July 4th extravaganza, featuring Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and a brilliant fireworks finale. Then it's on to classic Americana for “Gershwin Greats,” featuring guest pianist Jeffrey Biegel, soprano Angela Brown and bass Kevin Deas. Next, it's the the magnificent repertoire of Disney “Fantasia”: Live in Concert from the original 1940 version and “Fantasia 2000,” performed live as Disney's stunning footage is shown on the big screen. The fourth concert delivers the silky smooth sounds of saxophone superstar Kenny G, before the Symphony concludes the season with an OC tradition: “Tchaikovsky Spectacular,” which this year features guest pianist Jon Nakamatsu, and, of course, breathtaking cannons and fireworks during the “1812 Overture.”

Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and keyboardist Michael McDonald lends his husky, soulful baritone to Pacific Symphony Pops for a concert featuring hits from his chart-topping career spanning more than four decades. From his 1970s beginnings singing back-up vocals with American rock band Steely Dan on songs including 'Black Friday,' to enhancing the funky R&B sound of The Doobie Brothers, to his award-winning solo career, McDonald has established himself as a timeless yet distinctive artist in pops music. One of the most popular vocalists to emerge from the '70s rock scene, McDonald commands the stage with his distinctive interpretations of classics like 'What a Fool Believes,' 'On My Own,' 'Sweet Freedom,' 'I Keep Forgettin',' 'Minute by Minute' and 'Yah Mo B There.' The gritty rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, starring Chad-Alan Carr as a transgender singer and 'internationally ignored song stylist' from East Berlin, Germany, will appear live on Stage on Herr at HMAC on January 17, 2014 at 8:00 PM and January 18, 2014 at 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Featuring a book by John Cameron Mitchell and a score by Stephen Trask, Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a musical comedy about a fictional rock 'n' roll band, fronted by Hedwig (Carr), a transgender woman and 'internationally ignored song stylist' from East Berlin. The score includes memorable tunes 'Tear Me Down,' 'Wig in a Box,' 'Wicked Little Town' and 'Origin of Love.' The show features Lindsay Bretz-Morgan as Yitzhak and Kenny Geist, Michael Giblin, Tom Kristich, and Adam Rineer as the band, the Angry Inch.
