La Jolla Playhouse announced today the initial lineup of cast and creatives for the upcoming musical 'Memphis - The Birth of Rock 'n' Roll' slated for August 19th through September 28th in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

Memphis - The Birth of Rock 'n' Roll began previews on August 19th at La Jolla Playhouse and will run through September 28th in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. Memphis is the first production directed by Christopher Ashley at La Jolla Playhouse since becoming Artistic Director. Rehearsals begin July 8th.

The Civilians, the acclaimed New York-based theater troupe, will end their smash Off Broadway debut with Gone Missing on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street). Gone Missing will not, however, go entirely missing as its cast album from Ghostlight Records has announced a release date of January 15, 2008.

Signature Theatre Company opened their world premiere production of Queens Boulevard (the musical) on Monday, December 3 at The Peter Norton Space, and has also announced a one-week extension of the production, to now run through January 6.
