Nominees for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® for outstanding performances in 2011 in five film and eight primetime television categories and for the SAG honors for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles were announced this morning in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center's SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles® (BAFTA Los Angeles) will honor Academy Award® winning writer/director John Lasseter with the Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Filmed Entertainment, and BAFTA winning director David Yates with the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing at the 2011 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards on Wednesday, November 30 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The film will shoot in the U.K. and Russia. Focus Features will distribute the movie domestically, and Universal Pictures International (UPI) will distribute the movie internationally.

The Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA), a new offshoot of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, today announced nominations for the inaugural Critics' Choice Television Awards, hosted by Cat Deeley and scheduled to take place at a luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on June 20, 2011. ABC was the most nominated broadcast network with 16 nominations, followed closely by NBC with 12. AMC and FX led nominations for cable networks, with nine each. Modern Family was the most nominated series with six.

The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, the only televised awards show honoring performers in film and television, announced nominees at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on Thursday, December 16.

Filmmaker Raymond De Felitta penned the book to 'Buddy's Tavern,' a musical with songs by composer Kim Oler and lyricist Alison Hubbard, based on his 2000 film 'Two Family House.' Now, the show is gaining momentum, winning a development slot at the summer's National Music Theater Conference at the O'Neill Theater Center. Shows including AVENUE Q and IN THE HEIGHTS have previously performed at the center.

Colin Firth, Sir Ben Kingsley, Ian McKellen, Benjamin Zephaniah, Kelly Macdonald, Joss Stone, Noel Clarke, Celia Imrie, Arundhati Roy and Mark Steel, are set to star in AETN UK's The People Speak. The documentary celebrates extraordinary moments in UK history when ordinary people have spoken out for change.
