The Sundance Institute has chosen 8 playwrights to take part in their annual Sundance Institute Playwrights Retreat, Variety is reporting. The retreat began Monday, February 1st, and the residency will last through February 19th. The residency will take place in Ucross, Wyoming.

Dame Edna Everage and Michael Feinstein have welcomed Gregory Butler, Jodi Capeless, and Jon-Paul Mateo to their upcoming extravagant Broadway musical entertainment ALL ABOUT ME, directed by three time Tony Award-nominee Casey Nicholaw.

The 2010 Sundance Institute's Playwrights' Retreat at Ucross begins today and will run through February 19, 2010.

The Fabulous Divas of Broadway starring Alan Palmer will play at the Josephine Theatre from February 12-14, 2010.

Tony Award winner Betty Buckley will be a featured guest on Seth Rudetsky's SIRIUS XM LIVE on Broadway on Wednesday, February 3 at noon. This Spring, Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre presents CANDIDA -- George Bernard Shaw's classic about a clergyman and his wife who captures the attention of a young poet -- with previews scheduled to begin February 24, prior to its official press opening on March 7 at the Irish Repertory Theatre in Manhattan. Tony and Oscar Award-winner Tony Walton, who helmed the Irish Repertory's acclaimed revivals of Shaw's THE DEVIL'S DISCIPLE and MAJOR BARBARA, will direct.

Olney's luscious production of Camelot, described by The Washington Post as "compelling" and "resonant," has been extended for two weeks, to January 17, 2010. DC Theatre Scene calls Camelot "rip-roaring, ideal holiday entertainment."

The Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc. production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince, will make a return to South Florida as a major presentation of the 2009-2010 theatrical season when it opens Wednesday, December 23, brings in New Year 2010, and runs through Sunday, January 17. Well remembered by local theater goers for its phenomenal run when it opened on February 26, 1991 as the premiere presentation of the newly built theater, this 4-week run will mark another landmark presentation as a major 'special' of Broadway Across America-Ft. Lauderdale presented by Florida theatrical Association at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
