he Public Theaterannounced complete casting today for the new musical SOUTHERN COMFORT that tells the true story of a group of transgender friends living life on their own terms in the back hills of rural Georgia.  Directed by Thomas Caruso and based on the film by Kate Davis, SOUTHERN COMFORT features book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis, and was conceived for the stage by Robert DuSold and Thomas Caruso. SOUTHERN COMFORT begins previews on Tuesday, February 23 and will run through Sunday, March 27 in The Public's Anspacher Theater, with an official press opening on Monday, March 7. Public Theater Member tickets and single tickets are available now.

Sarah Megan Thomas & Bill Connington to Lead Staged Reading of PRIVATE LIVES This Week

Sarah Megan Thomas, the star of the films Backwards with James Van Der Beek, and Equity with James Purefoy, will appear with Bill Connington, who stars in the recently released film Zombie, based on the novella by Joyce Carol Oates--in a staged reading of Private Lives by theatrical legend Noel Coward. The glittering white and gold-gilded ballroom of a private Eastside club will act as the backdrop for Coward's most beloved play. The evening is produced by Razors Edge Productions.

Transgender-Centered Musical SOUTHERN COMFORT Joins The Public Theater's 2016 Season

The Public Theater announced today that the transformative, heart-soaring musical SOUTHERN COMFORT has been added to the 2015-16 downtown season. Inspired by Jonathan Safran Foer's enigmatic and eponymous novel,Tree of Codes distorts conventional perceptions of space and time, through manipulation of light, reflection, sound, and movement. The work will be performed by a company of soloists and dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet and Company Wayne McGregor.

Award­-winning actors Bill Connington (ZOMBIE) and Cadden Jones (WEST SIDE STORY) appear today in the sparkling George Bernard Shaw comedy PYGMALION at a private club on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Bill Connington won several awards for acting in the play and short film versions of ZOMBIE, based on the novella by literary giant Joyce Carol Oates. Cadden Jones has been seen as the lead in WEST SIDE STORY and THE MUSIC MAN, as well as in LAW & ORDER SVU and BLUE BLOODS. Connington and Jones were trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, respectively.
