Brevard, NC and Aspen, Colo.—Lady Gaga won't be the only one in the musical spotlight at Super Bowl 50. This Sunday, Brevard Music Center and Aspen Music Festival -- two of the country's most prestigious music institutions and summer festivals -- are putting their batons down, and fists up, to defend the honor of their respective football teams, the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announces world-renowned and critically acclaimed Grammy Award-winning musicians Chris Botti and Joshua Bell, together alongside a full orchestra for a one-night only virtuoso event on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 8 p.m. in the Walt Disney Theater. Tickets for the performance start at $65.00 and may be purchased by visiting the Dr. Phillips Center Box Office at 445 S. Magnolia Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Poway OnStage is elated to participate as a featured stop in the Upright & Grand Piano Festival presented by The San Diego Symphony on January 15th, 2016 at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts (15498 Espola Rd Poway, California). The evening will include a presentation of Liszt's Black Gondola, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 1, and Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5: Emperor, led by conductor Cristian Macelaru. The Princeton Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series presents an afternoon of violin with sung and spoken word with PSO principal second violinist Alexander Chaleff, soprano Winnie Nieh, and poet Alexandra Zelman-Doring at the Institute for Advanced Study. The concert features works by composers Anna Clyne, Ralph Vaughn Williams, and Gustav Holst interspersed with Ms. Zelman-Doring's multi-lingual recitation of poetry related to the orchestra's season.

Amazon's hit television show, MOZART IN THE JUNGLE kicks off its second season on December 30, 2015. The show follows a fictional (albeit, based in reality) orchestra in New York led by the exciting and controversial Rodrigo de Souza (Gael Garcia Bernal) loosely based on LA Philharmonic conductor, Gustavo Dudamel. The show is based on Blair Tindall's novel of the same name of her experiences with professional classical music in New York and San Francisco.
I had the fortune of speaking with Ms. Tindall about her transition from musician to author to TV consultant.
