In one of the first festivals of its kind, a panel of Broadway Producers and Emmy winning writers has compiled its final list of performances for the upcoming New York New Works Theatre Festival (August 29th - October 5).

Anneliese Van Der Pol* ('That's So Raven'), Jeanna De Waal* (Kinky Boots, American Idiot), Brynn Williams* (13, Bye Bye Birdie), and Trent Armand Kendall* (Into The Woods, Bat Boy) will star in The New York Musical Festival's (NYMF) upcoming reading of COOKIES, a new musical with book, music, and lyrics by Michael Shapiro and David Christensen.

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathers today for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). 

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. In 1988 in Florida's Dade County, Ginger Reiter sued comedian Jackie Mason for paternity, claiming he was the father of her daughter Sheba.  She won.  Reiter went on to become a high school English teacher in South Florida, and raised her daughter on her own (Mason did pay child support until Sheba turned 18).  But she also had a story to tell, and a unique one at that.   Both Sides of a Famous Love Affair - The Jackie Mason Musical is Reiter's light-hearted, laughter-filled musical recounting of her relationship with Mason, starring the result of that much contested union - her daughter Sheba Mason. 

With humor and drama, this unique theatrical piece reveals the vulnerable life of the artists and gives insight to the their circumstances as they travel from town to town performing in second-rate music halls.

The World Premiere of Tim Anfilogoff and Alan Whittaker's sharp and satirical musical plays C Venues at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Grace Bishop, Nicola Kill, and Rosie Watson will take on the titular role of Greta, Annie Kirkman makes her professional debut as the manipulative Fay, they will be joined by Sam Turrell as Tony, Michael Rees as Reg/Fred, Melissa Hovelle as Rita, Will Mulvey as Gregory Hampton M.P, Chelsea Corfield as Ute and Paul Brangan as Norm. The production will run today, 31st July - 26th August (not 13th) : 21:35 (1hr10) | C (venue 34).
