LA STAGE Alliance to Host LA STAGE Talks, 3/19-8/6

LA STAGE Alliance has announced this year's LA Stage Talks, a series of panel discussions moderated by LA STAGE Alliance CEO Terence McFarland, exploring various aspects of the creation of performing arts in the Southern California region. The premiere event, co-hosted by Southern California Public Radio KPCC, will take place on Tuesday, March 19 from 7:00-8:30pm, at the Crawford Family Forum in Pasadena.

FAITH: PART ONE OF A MEXICAN TRILOGY World Premiere Plays Latino Theater Company, 10/19-11/11

'Faith: Part One of a Mexican Trilogy,' a World Premiere engagement of a new play by Evelina Fernandez, will be directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela and presented by The Latino Theater Company at the Los Angeles Theatre Center (in Theatre 3, 514 S. Spring St., Los Angeles, Calif.). The production opens Friday, October 19, 2012 at 8 p.m., runs through Sunday, November 11.

Lark Play Dev Center Announces U.S./México Playwright Exchange Program

The Lark Play Development Center in collaboration with Mexico's National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) is pleased to announce the 2011 U.S./México Playwright Exchange Program. For the sixth year the Lark will host playwrights from México and pair them with U.S. playwrights, actors, and directors for a ten day cultural exploration which establishes ongoing channels of communication between artists in both countries. This year's partners include Borderlands Theater (Arizona), Repertorio Español (New York), and the Mexican Cultural Institute.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, will kick off its 50th Anniversary at its National Conference in Los Angeles, June 16-18, 2011. The TCG National Conference offers the largest forum for the national theatre community to assemble and engage in artistic and intellectual exchange. Not-for-profit professional theatres in the U.S. employ 130,000 people annually, have more than 30 million attendees and contribute nearly $2 billion directly to the U.S. economy.

Twelve early-career directors and designers have been selected for the 2009 NEA/TCG Career Development Programs for Theatre Directors and Designers. The recipients were chosen by an independent, national selection panel composed of theatre professionals. These programs are administered by TCG, in association with the National Endowment for the Arts, with major support from The Ford Foundation.
