Steve March Torme, the first-born son of legendary jazz singer Mel Torme presents a magical evening of music and memories on Monday, February 6, at 8:00pm at the McCallum Theatre. Steve March Torme, accompanied by a ten-piece band playing iconic arrangements by Marty Paich, sings his father's best-known songs, interspersed with personal Torme photos and video clips. From the opening strains of "Sweet Georgia Brown" to the up-tempo excitement of Duke Ellington's "It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing," the concert covers a sweeping arc of many of the songs Mel performed over a 50 years plus career, including "Stardust," "A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square," "Lulu's Back in Town," and "The Folks Who Live on the Hill."

Irish Arts Center is pleased to announce Tobin's Run on 51, a new series of jazz nights curated by award-winning Irish singer-songwriter Christine Tobin and acclaimed guitarist Phil Robson, who return to IAC after two sold-out concerts where they performed songs by Leonard Cohen. The series, which takes place at Irish Arts Center (553 West 51st Street, New York) on February 23, March 23 and April 27, will feature Tobin and Robson joined by special guests consisting of some of New York's best Irish and international musicians to play sets and share stories about music's greatest artists and treasures.

Even before breaking ground on their new home, IAC will welcome audiences into the existing Cybert Tire site for Rooms, a site-specific theatrical installation by the great Irish playwright Enda Walsh (May 3-28). IAC will present Rooms alongside St. Ann's Warehouse premiere of Walsh's new play, Arlington (May 3-28), making for a season of Walsh works in New York, supported by Culture Ireland.

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) presents Clas/sick Hip Hop, three evenings of hip hop dance and music with an energetic double bill now in its third iteration. The evening opens with Amy O'Neal's Opposing Forces, featuring breakdancing, dance battles, and intimate duets by five world-class B-Boys, followed by twelve unique Bay Area bands paying homage to Grammy award winner Lauryn Hill's critically acclaimed hip hop album with a night of covers and reinterpretations in UnderCover Presents: A Tribute to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Clas/sick Hip Hop aims to surface questions about the role of hip hop through music, movement, and the politics of freedom with an emphasis on gender norms.
