On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley together. The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll,' who discovered them all. The four young musicians united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions of all time.

North by Northeast (NXNE) announces new programming as part of the NXNE FILM FESTIVAL, including six Canadian premieres and eight world premieres. NXNE Film will screen more than 40 movies from June 11-17 at the NFB Mediatheque, Royal Cinema, and Toronto Underground Cinema.

The American Repertory Theater production Woody Sez, a musical tapestry of the American folk hero's life and songs, is to be simulcast live - the first live outdoor simulcast of a theater production outside of New York. Four students representing the Education Through Music Foundation and the cast of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET will be the highlight of the Education Through Music's Annual Gala held tonight, May 1, at the Grand Hyatt (109 East 42nd Street). In 2010, the historic day made history once again with its own Broadway show. And on Tuesday evening, the touring production of Million Dollar Quartet brought all the energy and revolutionary music of the twentieth century to the Sacramento Community Center, a strong beginning to a fabulous week of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
