The Houston Symphony will celebrate the 35th anniversary of Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9, 2017, with a screening of the iconic film complete with John Williams' Academy Award-winning score performed live by the orchestra.

The Houston Symphony and Music Director Andres Orozco-Estrada announced today details of the 2017-18 season, which marks Orozco-Estrada's fourth year as music director. Highlights of the season include the appointment of Peruvian-born composer Jimmy Lopez as the Houston Symphony's new Composer-in-Residence and the introduction of Ars Electronica Futurelab's musical visualization of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, an immersive concert experience directed by acclaimed choreographer Klaus Obermaier

On Saturday, February 4 at 8 pm, The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO)'s Saturday Evening POPS! concert celebrates famous songs and music of the stage and screen with guest vocalist Sierra Boggess and the return of Lucas Richman as host and conductor. The concert highlights iconic melodies from productions which have found success on both stage and screen. Ms. Boggess performs songs from Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Little Mermaid, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Love Never Dies, and In the Good Old Summertime. The evening also includes a tribute to George Gershwin, dance music by Leonard Bernstein from On the Town, and selections from Oliver! and The Producers. The concert takes place at Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall on the campus of Princeton University.

The Grand Rapids Pops will perform Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in Concert with three performances Jan. 27-28 in DeVos Performance Hall as part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. Pacific Symphony announces today that award-winning Broadway superstars Megan Hilty and Brian Stokes Mitchell will join the orchestra's 2016-17 Pops season, replacing previously scheduled Jason Alexander, who was forced to cancel due to an unforeseeable conflict.
