One of the capital's most beloved annual traditions, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) Free For All, and one of William Shakespeare's most beloved plays, A Midsummer Night's Dream, are coming together for a major milestone: Free For All's 25th anniversary. Ethan McSweeny directs a revival of his 2012-2013 STC production, which will run September 1-13 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW).

Showtime announced at today's Television Critics Association's summer press tour that they have greenlit a pilot for a drama from Jim Carrey set in the 1970s comedy scene, as well as a limited series based on Patti Smith's memoir Just Kids.

TheaterWorks in Hartford is closing out its 29th season with the one-woman talk fest based on one of Hollywood's first female super agents:  Sue Mengers.   "Gossip is mother's milk to me," she says, and, indeed, the performance is an 80 minute dish session without intermission.

The Dramatists Guild of America held their Biennial National Conference, Writing the Changing World, this past weekend from July 16-19, 2015 in La Jolla, CA.

Victory Gardens Theater announces the first show of its 41st season, the Midwest Premiere of Sucker Punch by Roy Williams, directed by Dexter Bullard.  Sucker Punch runs September 18 - October 18, 2015 with the press performance on Friday, September 25, 2015, at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Ayckbourn is regarded as England's Neil Simon with more than 70 plays spanning 5 decades. He is known for examining love, romance, marriage and relationships with comedy, wit and sharp dialogue. His plays include the award winning, Absurd Person Singular (produced twice by the Players in 1977 and  2013), The Norman Conquests. Bedroom Farce and A Chorus of Disapproval.

Two Time Tony Nominee and star of Broadway's 'Cinderella' Laura Osnes will make her Provincetown debut tonight, June 27 and tomorrow, June 28 at 7:00 PM as she launches the star-studded 2015 Broadway @ The Art House season, with Sirius XM star Seth Rudetsky as pianist and host.

The Dramatists Guild of America is pleased to announce their Third National Conference, Writing the Changing World, which will be held from July 16-19, 2015 at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA. The conference will include keynote speeches, legal and business seminars, workshops, panels, and conversations with theatre elite. Participating Council and visiting artists include Lisa Kron, Stephen Schwartz, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Carol Hall, Winnie Holzman, Georgia Stitt, Bobby Lopez, Marsha Norman, John Weidman, Julia Jordan, Amanda Green, and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason.
