Legendary director/performer John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and sensational cabaret goddess Mx. Justin Vivian Bond (Shortbus) will headline the third annual "Out in the Woods" Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) music festival at Easton Mountain Retreat Center in the beautiful rolling hills of upstate New York on August 10th.

Joe's Pub at The Public is proud to welcome seven different artist residencies this summer including sultry pop songstress DIANE BIRCH, New Orleans piano virtuoso HENRY BUTLER, performance artist JOHN KELLY, swinging jazz band THE HOT SARDINES, airhostess/comedienne PAM ANN, and more. Like its NEW YORK VOICES commissioning program, these residencies are a central part of the venue's commitment to artist development and to providing space for new work. In its 17th (and final) season, the BMCC Tribeca PAC's Artists-in-Residence (AIR) hallmark program enables four to eight emerging and established artists-writers, dancers, and composers-to create and develop new work over the course of one year. We are celebrating this tremendous program with a final presentation that is indicative of the cutting-edge work this program has strived to present. The artists have been chosen by a panel of established performing arts professionals from some of the city's highest regarded organizations such as LaMama, Here ARTS, Abrams Arts Center, The New York State Council on the Arts, River to River, and Dance New Amsterdam. The artistic disciplines the artists come form are dance, multimedia, music, and theater.

Investigation Discovery Renews Serial Killer Drama DARK MINDS for Third Season

Fictional characters like Joe Carroll and Hannibal Lecter may be killing it with viewers on the broadcast networks, but at Investigation Discovery, it's the real-life serial killers that get viewers' blood boiling. In DARK MINDS, non-fiction crime author M. William Phelps and criminal profiler John Kelly revisit unsolved homicides believed to be the work of serial killers. The two investigators enlist a real, convicted serial killer who helps formulate theories about the motives and drive behind the monster responsible. Revisiting additional unsolved homicide cases, the third season of DARK MINDS will start filming at the end of this month and is set to premiere on Investigation Discovery in 2Q, 2014.
