The 2013-14 season of the Bryn Mawr College Performing Arts Series continues in the New Year with The Escape Artist from Bessie and Obie Award-winning performance artist, musician and actor John Kelly. The New York Times said of the piece: 'You realize what you're watching isn't so much an artist inventing himself as inevitably discovering the true self within.' The performance takes place tonight, January 24, 2014 at Goodhart Hall, Bryn Mawr College.

Haven Theatre Company presents the third show in their inaugural season, the Chicago premiere of Seminar, a provocative comedy written by Pulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck and directed by Marti Lyons, Monday, March 3 - Sunday, April 13 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. Preview performances are Feb, 27, 28, March 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. and are $20. Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) just announced complete casting for the anticipated musical revival of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's musical THE THREEPENNY OPERA, directed and choreographed by visionary Martha Clarke.

Strawdog Theatre Company and Interim Artistic Director Hank Boland have announced the third production in their 2013 - 2014 season, the world premiere of Philip Dawkins' Miss Marx: or The Involuntary Side Effect of Living directed by Megan Shuchman, Strawdog Theatre Company is located at 3829 N. The second season of Live Arts Bard (LAB), a program of the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College, provides residencies for six American artists and ensembles making work that spans and transcends the fields of theater, performance, dance, music, film, and live art. Spring 2014 resident artists are Sarah Michelson, Nature Theater of Oklahoma, Geoff Sobelle, and Nilaja Sun. John Kelly and Robert Woodruff were LAB resident artists in fall 2013.

Polarity Ensemble Theatre presents William Shakespeare's tragedy, Macbeth. Adapted and directed by artistic director Richard Engling, Macbeth runs at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Since its founding in 1961, La MaMa Experimental Arts Club has been a hub for risk-taking theater artists from around the globe. La MaMa will celebrate their 2013 season of performances with a gala honoring two pillars of arts journalism: former Village Voice critic Michael Feingold, and publisher Patsy Tarr of 2wice. Throughout their long careers, these two individuals have carved out a voice for the arts, championing countless artists working across platforms.
