SILENCE! THE MUSICAL Resumes Off-Broadway Today

Following the announcement that SILENCE! The Musical would be ending its long run on December 30th, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records for the show so far. As a result, the producers determined that performances of the smash hit show will resume after a brief hiatus today, January 19th, at the Elektra Theatre, 669 Eighth Avenue (at 42nd St.).

San Diego Musical Theatre Announces its 2013 Season of Musicals

SILENCE! Resumes Performances Tomorrow at the Elektra Theatre

Due to popular demand, SILENCE! The Musical will resume performances tomorrow, January 19th at the Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square. Following the announcement that SILENCE! would be ending its long run December 30th, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records for the show so far. As a result, the producers determined that the smash hit show will reopen on January 19th. Originally announced as a strictly limited engagement through August 13, 2011, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre, which was constructed especially for the show. SILENCE! opened at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews and spawned a highly successful L.A. production starring Davis Gaines and Christine Lakin.

Tennessee Repertory Theatre will present the multiple Tony Award-winning musical Cabaret with book and lyrics by Joe Masteroff and Fred Ebb and music by John Kander. Cabaret runs February 16 - March 9 at TPAC's Johnson Theater (with preview performances February 14 - 15).

FREUD'S LAST SESSION, New York's long-running hit play by Mark St. Germain, is set to open in Los Angeles tonight, January 16th starring Judd Hirsch as Sigmund Freud and Tom Cavanagh as C. S. Lewis under the direction of Tyler Marchant, who helmed the original New York production. Presented by The Broad Stage & Carolyn Rossi Copeland, Robert Stillman and Jack Thomas, FREUD'S LAST SESSION will play a strictly limited engagement through February 10th at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica.

Bloomington Theatre and Art Center (BTAC) will welcome Tony-nominated Broadway actress Melissa Hart for a special 1-day acting workshop for musical theater performers called Voice: The Actor's Instrument. She will visit BTAC for this educational opportunity on Saturday, February 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
