Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) announces 2011 Next Wave Festival-featuring seventeen music, dance, and theater engagements from Sep 21-Dec 18

With his intense poetic style, Jerzy Skolimowksi has been one of the most distinctive voices in international cinema since he emerged as a leading figure in the 1960s Polish New Wave.

The full company is announced for the final season of The Bridge Project featuring Kevin Spacey, artistic director of The Old Vic, in the title role of Richard III. The Bridge Project will open at The Old Vic in London on June 29, 2011 and then embark on an international tour including the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Spain's Centro Niemeyer, Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Singapore Repertory Theatre, arriving at BAM's Harvey Theater in New York in January 2012. The Harry Potter film franchise will receive the "CinemaCon Hall of Fame Award," it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon, which will be held March 28-31, 2011, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

According to EW.com, Kiefer Sutherland and John Hurt will star in a Hulu-bound web series entitled, The Confession. Set to premiere in March, the series will be comprised of 10 five minute episodes. Sutherland will play 'a hitman who has a theological discussion with a priest about why his victims deserved to die.'

The Maldives have been added to the No Depression Festival lineup, as the Punch Brothers will unfortunately no longer be able to attend this year. The festival will take place Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Washington, just outside Seattle. The all-day event will feature The Swell Season, Lucinda Williams, The Cave Singers, The Maldives, Alejandro Escovedo, Chuck Prophet & Sera Cahoone.
