Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) announced that Tony and Emmy Award winner Tyne Daly will return to Manhattan Theatre Club as Maria Callas in a new Broadway production of Terrence McNally's award-winning play MASTER CLASS directed by Stephen Wadsworth.

The Gallery Players (Heather Curran, Artistic Director; Neal Freeman, Executive Director) announced today that Broadway veteran Gregory Simmons will direct August Wilson's Jitney, running March 19 - April 3, 2011 at the organization's Brooklyn home (199 14th Street, Park Slope).

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Lincoln Center Theater's productions of WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN and A FREE MAN OF COLOR will not extend their limited engagement runs. WOMEN ON THE VERGE will close on January 23 as previously scheduled, and FREE MAN OF COLOR on January 9.

Talking at the premiere of LITTLE FOCKERS, Ben Stiller talked to BlackFilm.com about his upcoming return to Broadway. Stiller said 'Yeah, there's a real history with my family and the play ‘The House of Blue Leaves' because my mother was in the original production in 1971 and that's where I met John Guare, the playwright. It was the first job I really got in 1986, playing the son in the play. To come back and play the father, it's come full circle in that way. My relationship with John has been so long, I'm looking forward to it. It's something I never really thought about doing until the idea got presented to me. I'm really a fan of the director David Cromer, and excited to dwell into it. It's an unknown thing, but I'm looking forward to it.'

Juilliard's Drama Division announced the complete schedule for its 2010-2011 season of fully-staged productions featuring students in their fourth and final year of acting training at Juilliard. Preston Whiteway, Executive Director of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, today announced that the National Endowment for the Arts has awarded a grant of $20,000 to support new play development at the O'Neill's National Playwrights and National Music Theater Conferences. The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is one of 1,057 not-for-profit organizations recommended for a grant as part of the federal agency's first round of fiscal year 2011 grants. In total, the Arts Endowment will distribute $26.68 million to support projects nationwide.
