Today the American Repertory Theater announced that Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of the Public Theater in New York, will be the recipient of the A.R.T.'s 2011 Robert Brustein Award.

The Flea Theater will present the World Premiere of #serials@theflea, a raucous late night play competition featuring The Bats and some of NYC's hottest young playwrights.

John Guare's THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES stars Ben Stiller, Edie Falco and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Directed by David Cromer, the production will open on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Producers Philip Morgaman, Anne Caruso/Vincent Caruso, Frankie J. Grande, and James P. MacGilvray have announced that Robert Sean Leonard will star opposite Jim Belushi and Nina Arianda in the upcoming Broadway production of Born Yesterday, a comedy by Garson Kanin, directed by Doug Hughes, at Broadway's Cort Theatre, 138 West 48 Street. The opening night is set for Sunday, April 24.

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has announced 10 Finalists for its prestigious playwriting award, now celebrating it's thirty-third year. The Houston-based Prize received the 2010 Theatre Communications Group's National Funder Award. The annual honor goes to a company, foundation or other entity for 'leadership and sustained national support of theater in America.'

Angelica Torn and Con Horgan are now co-starring in The Actors Studio limited engagement production of the Pulitzer Prize winning Eugene O'Neil classic Anna Christie, through January 30th.

The previously announced, America's Playwright at 100: A Salute to Tennessee Williams, scheduled for Monday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m. at Ford's Theatre, has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts with the evening's star, Academy Award-winning actor Eli Wallach, and other key participants.

Who Wants Cake? kicks off the new year with a fresh look at John Guare's classic dark comedy, The House of Blue Leaves. The production will close at Ferndale's Ringwald Theatre January 31st, 2011, The House of Blue Leaves will feature Detroit favorite Dave Davies and Lisa Jesswein (formerly of 96.3's Blaine & Lisa in the Morning).

Hermitage Artist Retreat and the Greenfield Foundation are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2011 Greenfield Prize has been awarded this year in Drama to Playwright John Guare.

Affinity Company Theater and 3-Legged Dog will present the world premiere of Sheila Schwartz's "SPY GARBO," directed by Kevin Cunningham, in a multi-media production.

Celebrated American playwright John Guare will be returning to Florida Stage as the guest speaker at Lee Wolf's Backstage at Theatre Club. The intimate, thought-provoking interview will be conducted by Ms. Wolf, noted literary enthusiast and long-time Florida stage supporter. Mr. Guare last visited Florida Stage in 2007 to present the Keynote Address for the company's inaugural 1st Stage New Works Festival. His appearance for Backstage at Theatre Club will be on February 18, 2011 from 12-3pm at the Phillips Point Club on Flagler Road in West Palm Beach. Lunch is included.
