This year, the Oakland University theatre program will present 'Pinkalicious the Musical,' as its annual children's production. The show tells the tale of Pinkalicious, a pink-loving girl who eats so many pink cupcakes she turns pink. It's a dream come true. Or is it? 'Pinkalicious the Musical' is about learning the power of self-control and the importance of moderation.

Didion's powerful memoir of love and loss, THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING, will unfold upon the stage of the Roxy Regional Theatre's theotherspace for four evenings, February 23 - March 3.

Two fun family shows for children and their caregivers come to Mayo Performing Arts Center in January. Pinkalicious (Sunday, January 25) and Sid the Science Kid (Tuesday, January 27) appeal to children ages three and above.

The award-winning VITAL THEATRE COMPANY has announced that its 2014 Fall Season will include four musicals for children and families, performed by adults. Perhaps the power of American Players Theatre can be determined by an audience's silence when exiting the Touchstone Theater after a Sunday evening performance, the haunting quiet almost reverent appreciation for what had transpired minutes before. In Spring Green, Sarah Day illuminates the stage in an approximately one hour forty five minute no intermission performance. APT's one woman play retells award winning author's Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking, a play she adapted in 2007 and based on her memoir from the year after her husband John Gregory Dunne died in 2003 A time when Didion simultaneously coped when her daughter Quintana suffered from septic shock, often lying n the hospital's ICU hovering between life and death.

Based on the popular children's book by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann, Pinkalicious The Musical will perform six shows at the City Theatre on Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23.

PINKALICIOUS, at the Adventure Theatre - Musical Theater Center, in Glen Echo Park, directed by Carl Menninger, based on Victoria and Elizabeth Kann's children's novel, and adapted by the authors, with music and lyrics by John Gregor, is a winner. Although it is aimed at young children, it has plenty to delight parents and older kids as well.

A new musical created by a team of Australian brothers, Paul and Michael Hodge, CLINTON will makes its US debut at the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival. The new musical will be directed by Adam Arian with musical direction by James Dobinson and choreography by Emily McNamara, it will begin performances July 18 through July 25 at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).
