This year, the Oakland University theatre program will present 'Pinkalicious the Musical,' as its annual children's production. The show tells the tale of Pinkalicious, a pink-loving girl who eats so many pink cupcakes she turns pink. It's a dream come true. Or is it? 'Pinkalicious the Musical' is about learning the power of self-control and the importance of moderation.

Geva Theatre Center presents Little Shop of Horrors - the smash-hit musical by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, based on the 1960 film by Roger Corman. Directed by Sean Daniels, Little Shop of Horrors begins performances January 13, opens January 17 and runs in the Elaine P. Wilson Mainstage through February 15.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Cathedral of St. John the Divine announced today that Tony Award-winning actress Vanessa Redgrave will perform a reading of Blue Nights, the evocative memoir by Joan Didion, at a special benefit performance at 8 p.m. Monday, November 17, at The Cathedral (1047 Amsterdam Ave, NYC).

The award-winning VITAL THEATRE COMPANY has announced that its 2014 Fall Season will include four musicals for children and families, performed by adults. The season will open with The Butterfly Girl, which had its World Premiere on the Vital stage in 2011. Two popular shows returning this season are Peace, Love, and Cupcakes The Musical and the long running favorite Pinkalicious, The Musical. The board of directors of Penobscot Theatre Company has announced that Artistic Director Bari Newport has been named producing artistic director, and Mary Budd, who had served as the theatre's interim managing director since February, has been named executive director.

Perhaps the power of American Players Theatre can be determined by an audience's silence when exiting the Touchstone Theater after a Sunday evening performance, the haunting quiet almost reverent appreciation for what had transpired minutes before. In Spring Green, Sarah Day illuminates the stage in an approximately one hour forty five minute no intermission performance. APT's one woman play retells award winning author's Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking, a play she adapted in 2007 and based on her memoir from the year after her husband John Gregory Dunne died in 2003 A time when Didion simultaneously coped when her daughter Quintana suffered from septic shock, often lying n the hospital's ICU hovering between life and death.

A new musical created by a team of Australian brothers, Paul and Michael Hodge, CLINTON will makes its US debut at the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival. The new musical will be directed by Adam Arian with musical direction by James Dobinson and choreography by Emily McNamara, it will begin performances July 18 through July 25 at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).
