CHICAGO is a musical that's burdened by the weight of its expectations. From the classic score by Kander and Ebb, to Bob Fosse's legendary choreography, to the original cast of Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera, and Jerry Orbach, and to the modern casting of Ann Reinking, of Joel Grey, of John O'Hurley, and of Charlotte D'Amboise, everything about it is mythic. Even the award-winning movie version is considered a poor adaptation of the actual play - what about it isn't too much to handle?

"In here, life is beautiful," the Emcee deviously purrs to the audience at the start of CABARET, now playing at Austin's City Theatre Company. Though he is referring to Berlin's seedy Kit Kat Klub, the same can be said of The City Theatre. In here, life is many things: clever, engrossing, and always beautiful, even when the proceedings turn dark and sinister.

Harry Melling, best known for playing Dudley Dursley in five of the Harry Potter films, is to play Christopher Isherwood in I am a Camera, which will run in a three-week season at The Vault at Southwark Playhouse, in London from Wednesday September 5 - Saturday September 22. Ten Chimneys Foundation has announced the ten actors who will participate in the 2012 Lunt- Fontanne Fellowship Program, a widely acclaimed national program to serve the future of American theatre. Today, July 22-July 29, the Lunt-Fontanne Fellows will join Broadway legend Joel Grey for an intensive, weeklong master class and immersion experience at Ten Chimneys, the National Historic Landmark estate of Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin.

Ten Chimneys Foundation has announced that Washington, D.C. actors E. Faye Butler, Christopher Bloch, and Brad Oscar have been selected as 2012 Lunt-Fontanne Fellows.
