Considered to be the 1st Straight Edge branded band, SSD formed in Boston in 1981. The band gained notoriety within the local music scene for their performances and the provocative antics of their group of followers, the Boston Crew. The original lineup was Al Barile on guitar, Springa on vocals, Jaime Sciarappa on bass and Chris Foley on drums. 

The Players' Ring will present David Auburn's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winner Proof - a dazzling psychological thriller about a brilliant mathematician struggling to untangle her father's legacy - from November 13-22 with both live and online performances.

To celebrate Ugly Duckling Presse and the launching of its new Emergency Performance series, the editors are hosting a bacchanalia to invoke the spirit of chaos necessary for such an ambitious project, and a wonderful collision of performers, audiences, and communities to begin the process of engagement which this new series will undertake.
