Wicked, London's hugely popular musical that tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz, has announced that Lee Mead is to play Fiyero at the Apollo Victoria Theatre starting Monday, May 10th.

Day 4 has Seth deconstructing Capathia Jenkins in FAME BECOMES ME. Seth writes ' This score is never talked about. Capathia is fantastic and so is everyone else in the cast. Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman wrote it!'

Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 64th Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced May 4, 2010 by Broadway Star Lea Michele and Tony Award Nominee Jeff Daniels.

According to Variety, Samuel L. Jackson and Neil LaBute are set to develop an as-of-yet unnamed television series together with the Showtime network.

Lortel Statues for 14 categories and 2 special awards were handed out by celebrity presenters at the 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards at a live awards ceremony tonight at Terminal 5. Hosted by the Off-Broadway League, the live show was co-hosted by Bryan Batt and Bebe Neuwirth and featured performances by Alan Menken, STOMP, Seth Rudetsky, Edward Watts of The Fanasticks and LaChanze.

Michael Urie, currently co-staring in the Off-Broadway play THE TEMPERAMENTALS, will chat with Seth Rudestsky at tomorrow's edition of 'Seth's Broadway Chatterbox.' Seth's Broadway Chatterbox is a one hour weekly talk show hosted by Seth Rudetsky, and includes interviews and performances by noted Broadway celebrities. The show takes to the stage Thursday evenings @ 6 PM at Don't Tell Mama.

The San Francisco production of the smash hit musical WICKED will play its final performance on Sunday, September 5, 2010, ending its record-breaking run at the Orpheum Theatre. Tickets are now on sale for all performances through September 5th. Upon closing, WICKED will have played 660 performances and 12 previews.

According to a recent Twitter post from the official Wicked the Musical Twitter account, the hit show will end its San Francisco run on September 5th. The production opened at the Orpheum Theatre on February 6, 2009.

The Lucille Lortel Awards recently hosted an reception for all 2010 Lucielle Lortel Award Nominees for the 25th Anniversary Lortel Awards Reception & Ceremony. The full Awards Reception will be held on May 2, 2010 at 6 PM EST with the Ceremony beginning at 8 PM EST at Terminal 5, 610 West 56th Street, between 11th & 12th Avenues. Today, we present the final section of the Sondheim Palooza for this week with a discussion of Sondheim's work in the last two decades. The shows themselves stand as solid proof that this is a composer/lyricist still at the absolute height of his abilities and at the top of his game, as we can very clearly hear in the scores for ASSASSINS, PASSION, THE FROGS and ROAD SHOW...

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater will conclude its 15th Anniversary season with the world premiere of The Aliens, by Annie Baker (Circle Mirror Transformation, Body Awareness). Directed by Sam Gold (Circle Mirror Transformation, Rag and Bone), performances begin Wednesday, April 14th, 2010. Opening night is Thursday, April 22nd at 7pm. The show is scheduled to run through Sunday, May 23rd, 2010.

As the clock ticks ever closer to the 25th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards on May 2nd, the yearly tradition of a fête to celebrate the year's nominees will be held on April 19th, 2010, at 5 PM, hosted and generously donated in part by Inside Park at St. Bart's, 325 Park Avenue at 50th Street.
