Lincoln Center Theatre to Open Claire Tow Theater with SLOWGIRL

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that the Claire Tow Theater, its newest stage at Lincoln Center and the future home to its programming initiative LCT3, will open in June with the LCT3 world premiere production of SLOWGIRL, a new play by Greg Pierce.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) will conclude its 33rd season with the World Premiere of the new musical, DOGFIGHT, featuring music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, a book by Peter Duchan and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello. Winner of the prestigious 2011 Richards Rodgers Award for Musical Theatre, DOGFIGHT will be performed at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street) this summer. Kathryn Erbe, Seth Numrich Lead Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's YOSEMITE; Opens Tonight

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Yosemite began performances on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets). The official opening night is set for Thursday, January tonight at 7pm. The production is scheduled to run through February 26th. Pedro Pascal directs.

MCC THEATER has just announced another all-star line-up for the company's highly anticipated annual gala, to be held Monday, March 26, 2012 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street). Miscast 2012 will honor the creators of Carrie, Academy Award-winning composer Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), Academy Award-winning lyricist Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose) and Writer Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film, Carrie) for their bold, daring, risk-taking spirit. Funds raised from Miscast help MCC Theater produce some of the most talked-about new work Off Broadway and support their Youth Company and in-school partnerships that serve New York City public high school students, as well as their literary development work with emerging playwrights.

According to published reports, Broadway veteran Matthew Morrison and Matt Bomer have joined the cast of the Los Angeles reading of Dustin Lance Black's Prop 8 play, '8.' Morrison will star as 'Jeff Zarillo' and Bomer as 'Paul Katami' in the reading, which will play the Wilshire Ebell Theatre on March 3, 2012. They join previously announced George Clooney.

According to Whatsonstage, 9 TO 5 might arrive in the UK in the near future. Ambassador Theatre Group's Howard Panter told Whatsonstage that a revamped version of the musical is currently in the works.
