Voting is fully underway for BroadwayWorld's 2010 Theatre Fans' Choice Awards, with thousands of votes already in and early leads established for some surprising and not so suprising early results. Voting will continue through June 4, 2010 and anything can happen between now and then. In the meantime early leaders range from those overlooked by the TONY nominations to fan favorites. 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' Hosts Weeklong Celebration Of The Rolling Stones 5/10-14

'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' will host a weeklong celebration of the Rolling Stones beginning May 10, saluting the re-release of the band's 10th studio album 'Exile on Main Street.' Regarded as one of the greatest albums in rock ‘n' roll history and one of the most defining of the Stones' catalogue, 'Exile' will be available in the U.S. May 18. The weeklong event is being sponsored by Bud Light Golden Wheat, culminating in a special limited commercial broadcast on Friday, May 14th.

Yesterday, April 27, cast members from AMERICAN IDIOT helped unveil the IDIOT-themed windows at Bloomingdale's on 59th Street. The Nudie denim line sold at the superstore is partnering with the production. The window displays honor the cast and celebrate the show's recent opening on April 20, 2010. Last week on April 20, 2010, Actor's Equity's David Westphal hosted the famed Gypsy Robe Ceremony for company members of AMERICAN IDIOT at the St. James Theatre. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES chorus member Dale Hensley turned over the robe to AMERICAN IDIOT cast member Andrew Call. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.

Green Day's American Idiot is undoubtedly one of the season's most ambitious projects. The concept: take one of the most successful rock albums of this generation and turn it into a Broadway musical - without adding a stitch (or nearly) of dialogue. The experiment, so far, has been a success, managing to win over theater minds largely unfamiliar with the rock/grunge genre, as well as music fans who, prior to it's opening, had never stepped foot in a Broadway house.
