BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL to Present Street Theatre Company

Bringing back the audience favorite from one of Street Theatre's early seasons, Street Theatre Company closes its tenth season with the Off-Broadway cult classic BAT BOY. In this rock 'n' roll musical, a supernatural half bat/half boy discovered in a cave in West Virginia attempts to integrate into a narrow-minded town. He tries to fit in, but happiness is shattered as the town hears the shocking story of Bat Boy's unholy origin.

Street Theatre Company Moves to East Nashville School for 10th Anniversary Season

Street Theatre Company, one of Nashville's preeminent professional theaters, has left their Elm Hill Pike home of the last four years to partner with Bailey STEM Magnet Middle Prep School in East Nashville. The company is now in residence at Bailey, and will be performing its 10th Anniversary Season (which consists of four mainstage productions and two children's productions) in the school's intimate auditorium.

Dorks in Dungeons, the award-winning fantasy comedy improve troupe has announced their second Tavern Quest. Tavern Quest is a live action roleplaying event in the vein of the Dorks in Dungeons stage show, only this time guests are encouraged to come in-character and participate in the adventure. The Dorks will be taking over The Stone Church in Newmarket and once again turning it into The Gaye Bugbear, the iconic, multidimensional tavern from their live comedy show. Guests will be pitted against each other in various competitions, with the winner being forever enshrined in the Dorks in Dungeons mythology.

The Treehouse has announced the best in live comedy is now, back in Danbury. Opening Night is Thursday April 17th in an All New Treehouse Comedy Showcase hosted by 2012 Grand Champion of the Funniest Comic in New England Contest John Romanoff and our first headlining show will be staged on Saturday April 26th.

Eric Link directs DIXIE SWIM CLUB for Lakewood Theatre Company

Director Eric Link leads a cast of accomplished local actresses in Lakewood Theatre Company's 31st season's production of The Dixie Swim Club, a comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten. According to Link - who is vice president of Lakewood Theatre Company and is the recent winner of its Lakie Award for best lead actor of 2010 for his role in Jones/Hope/Wooten's Southern Hospitality - The Dixie Swim Club focuses on five Southern women (whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team), who set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in one another's lives. The Dixie Swim Club focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years.
