Two Exciting events coming up at Burning Coal Theatre: A 3 day Viewpoints Workshop taught by OBIE Award winner Randolph Curtis Rand and a Lobby Lecture with two of the country's foremost experts on the game of Poker.

Burning Coal Theatre Company of Raleigh, NC will join 99 other theatres nationwide to simultaneously present the world premiere staged reading of The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later by Moises Kaufman, Leigh Fondakowski, Greg Pierotti, Andy Paris and Stephen Belber of the Tectonic Theatre Project of New York City.

Burning Coal Theatre Company will hold auditions for its 2009/2010 season on Saturday, June 20th from 11 am to 6 pm at Meymandi Theatre at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh. To book an audition slot, please call 919-834-4001 or email burning_coal@ipass.net. Actors should prepare two one-minute monologues, one Shakespeare and one contemporary, along with sheet music for a short selection from a pop song (pianist will be provided), and three copies of their picture/resume (if available). Actors of all types should audition.

We also have $5 student rush tickets available 5 minutes before each performance. The first Sunday of the run, April 12th at 2 p.m. will be the 'Pay What You Can' performance. The first Saturday, April 11th at 7:30 p.m. will be audio described for the visually impaired.
