Transport Group to Present THE MEMORY SHOW, Starring Leslie Kritzer and Catherine Cox, Beginning 4/16

Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, has announced that the New York premiere of a new musical, The Memory Show, book and lyrics by Sara Cooper; music by Zach Redler; directed by Joe Calarco, will begin performances Tuesday, April 16, at 7pm at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project, at 229 West 42nd Street. The Memory Show features Catherine Cox and Leslie Kritzer. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30 at 7pm.

Join Midtown Direct Rep in developing new and innovative American theatre. Following on the heels of MDR's successful development of Rated P (for parenthood) which all the way to Off-Broadway, MDR's new program, 'Midtown Direct Rep in the Loft,' aims to do the same for other previously unseen material. MDR will now be presenting monthly readings or workshops of new plays and musicals one Sunday night a month at 7PM in the SOPAC loft. With a cash bar and post show discussions with our casts and creative teams, MDR will foster a fun and collaborative environment to nurture the development of top notch theatre right here at home.

Goodspeed Musicals kicks off its 50th Anniversary Season with a new production of the classic musical Good News!. This high spirited musical comedy will run from April 12 - June 22 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. Good News! will be sponsored by Liberty Bank and Updike, Kelley & Spellacy. The New Jersey Theatre Alliance and Midtown Direct Rep will present a reading of the play 7.5 Wondrous Act(s) of True Love by Jeremy Desmon as part of Midtown Direct Rep's recently launched play development series focused on new and innovative American theatre. This March 17th reading is part of The Stages Festival, an annual statewide program that provides discounted and free theatre performances, workshops and events throughout the month of March. This performance, typically $15 per ticket, will have a limited quantity of free tickets available as part of the Stages Festival. (Limit two per patron while supplies last).

The sold-out Pump Up The Volume concert takes place at Joe's Pub tonight, June 25, 2012 at 9:30pm. Recently added to the performer lineup are Harris Doran (The Actors' Fund's Hair), Claybourne Elder (Bonnie & Clyde), Gideon Glick (Spring Awakening), and Caren Lyn Tackett (Hair). Film star Samantha Mathis, who appeared in the movie version of Pump Up The Volume, will also make a special appearance at the concert.
