Kim Collier Receives Siminovitch Prize

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is excited to announce that the director of its upcoming production of No Exit, Kim Collier, received this year's Elinore & Lou Siminovitch Prize, Canada's largest theater award. Collier, the artistic producer of Vancouver's envelope-pushing Electric Company Theatre, was cited for her innovation, leadership, and encouragement of artistic risk taking. Collier is the artistic force behind The Virtual Stage and Electric Company Theatre's groundbreaking reinvention of Jean-Paul Sartre's existential classic No Exit, which will receive its U.S. premiere at A.C.T. in April 2011.

Academic Theatre at the Community College of Baltimore County presents an evening of two one-act plays 8 p.m., Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 21-23, 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 and 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26 in the 'B' Building Theatre at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. Tickets are $8 general admission and $5 seniors, students, CCBC faculty, staff and alumni and available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787).

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) announced that single tickets for the 2010-11 season will go on sale Sunday, August 8, 2010, for the first six shows of the season, including A Christmas Carol. Family four-packs for Scapin and A Christmas Carol (which provide four tickets at substantial discounts for select performances) will also be available for purchase at that time. Single tickets for the world premiere of the new musical Tales of the City will be available for purchase later in the season. Patrons are encouraged to buy their tickets early to obtain the best seats, as orchestra seats are limited due to heavy demand for subscriber seating. A.C.T. continues to offer one of the best entertainment deals in the Bay Area, with seats available at certain performances for as little as $10. Deaf West Theatre, Ed Waterstreet, Artistic Director, has announced their next production, My Sister In This House by Wendy Kesselman. Directed by Michael Unger, My Sister In This House will begin previews on Saturday, April 10 and is set to open on Saturday, April 17 at 8pm. The engagement will run through Sunday, May 30.
