On Thursday, June 16 at 7PM, Cherry Lane Theatre will host Soiree Fantastique!, a special benefit evening that will include a performance of the world premiere of Israel Horovitz's Out of the Mouths of Babes, starring Oscar winner and five-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons and two-time Tony winner Judith Ivey, along with Angelina Fiordellisi (Zorba on Broadway opposite Anthony Quinn) and Francesca Choy-Kee (Disgraced). The performance at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) will be followed by a post-show discussion with the cast moderated by best-selling novelist Adriana Trigiani; a fete with French cuisine, wines, and music and an exclusive photo opportunity with the cast. The amazingly talented performers of THE BLACK VERSION - HOLIDAY SPECIAL rocked the audience at Largo @ The Coronet with their lightning quick improv wit, some incredible vocals and ridiculously sharp rapping. Karen Maruyama directed her six-member cast in a racehorse pacing with just enough time for hearty laughs between hilarious lines after hilarious reactions after hilarious comebacks.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center revealed the 2015-16 Bemis Company Education Series last night to a group of educators from the Fox Cities and Northeast Wisconsin. The series of daytime performances is comprised of titles that connect with grades PreK-12 curriculum. Highlights include Junie B. Jones' Essential Survival Guide to School, Dallas Children's Theater's The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) and Ballet Folklorico "Quetzalli" de Veracruz.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces the Pittsburgh premiere of Raisin' Cane: A Harlem Renaissance Odyssey, starring Jasmine Guy and The Avery Sharpe Trio, which will be performed tonight, April 16, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., at the Byham Theater, 101 Sixth Street, Pittsburgh's Cultural District. This event is part of the Cohen & Grigsby Trust Presents series, presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The creative concept for this production was inspired by the classic 1923 Jean Toomer novel 'Cane' and works by the musicians, composers, poets and actors of the Harlem Renaissance. The Arizona Daily Star said, 'Cane is a sweet salute to Harlem's glory days' and the Dayton Daily News wrote the performance was 'Lively, informative, motivating and entertaining...'
