Suzi Bass Awards Announces Nominations for the 2008 - 2009 Atlanta Professional Theatrical Season

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced nominations for the 2008-2009 Atlanta professional theatrical season this week to an enthusiastic crowd of patrons, Suzi Judges and theatre industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Actor's Express in their performance space at King Plow Arts Center. Suzi Awards Executive Director Deadra Moore read the list of Nominees while guests enjoyed drinks, hors d'ouevres and the chance to congratulate and mingle with their colleagues in the industry.

Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company is proud to announce its production of Miss Evers' Boys by David Feldshuh, directed by Kenny Leon, featuring Jasmine Guy, TC Carson and Eugene Lee. Performances will take place at Fulton County's Southwest Arts Center, March 4 - 21, 2009; performance times vary and are listed on the True Colors website, truecolorstheatre.org. Alliance Theater To Host Red Carpet Event For SUPERSTAR

The Alliance Theatre will host a red carpet event for the Opening Night of the new musical Jesus Christ Superstar GOSPEL. In attendance will be actor Ben Vereen, nominated for a Tony Award for his portray of Judas in the original Broadway production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Among others, also in attendance will be Grammy-winning country artist Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, Earl Klugh (Grammy-winning jazz guitarist and composer) and actress Jasmine Guy.
