The Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams has confirmed that she will play Janis Joplin in an upcoming biopic about the late music icon. It was reported last month that she was in talks for the project.

Central Park Dance, Westchester's largest dance center committed to cultivating the 21st century dancer, will present a brand new production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, choreographed by Lou Troisi, formerly of the Joffrey Ballet.
