Page 73 Productions, the Off-Broadway company dedicated to producing and developing works by early-career playwrights, has awarded Clare Barron the 2014 P73 Playwriting Fellowship.

Hartford Stage is now accepting applications from high school student writers, actors, rappers, dancers, musicians, poets and artists to create and perform an original theatre piece as part of Project: Transform. Project: Transform is a free program that will bring together approximately 15 high school students from districts throughout Connecticut to create and perform their own piece of theatre, under the guidance of renowned guest playwright and Aetna New Voices Fellow Janine Nabers and director Hunter Parker.

Ars Nova kicks off 2014 with Game Play, this year's incarnation of Ars Nova's annual Play Group production. An evening of original short plays and live music inspired by classic board game titles, Game Play features Peter Benson, Marcia DeBonis, Dashiell Eaves, Brandon Gill, Ben Graney, Susan Heyward, Jessica Love and Carmen Zilles. This production plays 10 performances, today, January 29 - February 8.

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company today announced the Keen Teens, the educational theatre partnership between Off-Broadway's Keen Company and the theatrical publishing company Samuel French, has selected the writers for the program's eighth season: Kristoffer Diaz, Halley Feiffer, and Kenny Finkle, who have been commissioned to write thirty-minute, large cast plays, which will be produced with student actors Off-Broadway.

Hartford Stage announces their participation as a regional competition host for Young Playwrights for Change: The Anti-Bullying Project. The project invites middle school students to write and submit 10-minute plays that explore the topic of bullying by January 17, 2014.

Colt Coeur's Play Hotel series presents staged readings of a boy put this girl in a cage with a dog and the dog killed the girl by Clare Barron, directed by Stella Powell-Jones & Umma Lappa Soon by Claire Kiechel, directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt. The 15th season of Brand:NEW FallFestival of New Work, from October 23 - 27, will feature readings of six remarkably varied new works, including two plays by Aetna New Voices Fellows; a special appearance by Tony Award-winner Priscilla Lopez; a musical-comedy; and an adaptation of one of the most-produced contemporary plays in Europe today, according to Maxwell Williams, Hartford Stage's Associate Artistic Director, and Elizabeth Williamson, Senior Dramaturg and Director of New Play Development.

Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts have announced that playwright Janine Nabers will be the 2013-14 Aetna New Voices Fellow at Hartford Stage.

Continuing its commitment to developing new works, TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, has announced the lineup for its 2013 New Works Festival, including a new comedy from Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart, The Miss Firecracker Contest).
