Bay Area Cabaret welcomes back Grammy winner, Oscar nominee, and American music legend Judy Collins in the debut of a brand new show Judy Collins Sings Sondheim.

Below, BroadwayWorld is excited to bring you an exclusive performance from the concert. Keep yourself warm on this snow day with 'Behind These Walls' sung by Tony nominee Joshua Henry. The song features an arrangement by Alan and a string orchestration by Allison Seidner.

Scott Alan made his concert debut at 54 Below earlier this week on, January 19th with a slew of Broadway all-star talent, including 2014 Tony winners Jessie Mueller and James Monroe Iglehart, Tony nominees Joshua Henry and Chad Kimball, as well as Lilla Crawford, Erin Davie, Mykal Kilgore, Natalie Weiss, Christine Dwyer, Julian Cihi, Danny Calvert, Elizabeth Stanley, Abby Mueller, Christiane Noll, Jessica Phillips, Lisa Brescia, Ashley Brown, Eden Espinosa, Marcus Paul James, Julia Murney, Marissa Rosen, Christina Cataldo and Galyana Castillo joined Alan. Next week, acclaimed NYC jazz vocalist-songwriter Marcus Goldhaber is back in Manhattan for his first concert of the new year -Wednesday, Jan. 28 at The Kitano for the 'Jazz @ The Kitano' Series, where he'll be reuniting with the Jon Davis Trio as the celebration continues for A LOVELY WAY TO SPEND AN EVENING (Fallen Apple/The Orchard), Marcus' latest album and first with major distribution.

BroadwayWorld is excited to bring you 'Songs from My Living Room'- a new series that goes into the home of one of today's most acclaimed contemporary songwriters, as he explains the stories behind his songs. The monthly series will feature special guests from all corners of the entertainment industry to help bring to life the music and lyrics of Scott Alan straight from his living room into yours. This fourth episode, directed by Robbie Rozelle, features David Burtka singing Alan's 'Goodnight' from his debut album 'Dreaming Wide Awake'.

As the days dwindled down to a precious few in 2014, a few cabaret goers and performers in what is affectionately but also self-mockingly called the “cabaret community” would sidle up and ask if I was planning my annual end-of-the year “Best Of” column, similar to the “Top 20 Bests and Favorites” piece over the first half of the year I posted back in early July. I would respond in the negative with very reasonable and believable excuses, but the truth is I didn't want to reveal my “Bests” of the year until the voting for the 2014 BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards had ended. There's enough baggage and backstage whispering that comes with administering the BWW Awards, so I wasn't about to publish any opinions that might influence the vote while it was in process. I may be crazy but I'm not masochistic. But now all bets are off. You want lists? I'll give you lists.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestra's begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven- o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Grammy® nominated singer Jane Monheit, known for her smooth vocals and sincere interpretations, returns to Segerstrom Center in a program paying tribute to one of her musical idols, the legendary Judy Garland on March 13 & 14 in Samueli Theater. Hello Bluebird – Celebrating the Jazz of Judy Garland includes many of the Hollywood icon's hits such as “Get Happy,” “You Gotta Have Me Go With You” and her most beloved signature song, “Over the Rainbow.” Monheit will be joined by pianist Michael Kanan, bassist Neal Miner and drummer Rick Montalbano.

BroadwayWorld has called Ann Hampton Callaway the current “Queen of Cabaret” and apparently much of the cabaret audience agrees. The votes for the 2014 BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards are official and Callaway is the “Performer of the Year,” having garnered 2,194 votes (the most of any nominee) out of the 66,179 votes cast by approximately 7,500 voters for 148 nominees in 17 categories. Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts (www.usdan.com), the nationally acclaimed summer arts day camp whose alumni include Natalie Portman, Mariah Carey, Jane Monheit, Jackie Hoffman, Olivia Thirlby, Taylor Dane and many others, announces The New Usdan with many new courses for 2015. The Center begins its 48tth season with new program options that will add breadth to Usdan's renowned offerings, while new calendar options will accommodate more family summer plans.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, January 18 at 9:30 PM to open the Winter/Spring 2015 Season. The Meeting* has been called 'delicious and delightfully droll' by The New York Post and 'hilarious and sardonic' by The Village Voice. A story for Slate.com called the evening 'so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight.' The Fall 2014 shows sold out after a New York Times 'Arts & Leisure' piece ran in September. The January show will include a tribute to Broadway legend Ethel Merman, with special guests Klea Blackhurst, Erin Markey, Nora Mae Lyng, Molly Pope and Ben Rimalower. Tracy Stark serves as the show's Music Director.
