The Southern California Motion Picture Council (SCMPC) have proudly presented their 2012 Golden Halo Award to actress, singer and humanitarian, Ms. Barbara Van Orden. The Golden Halo is the SCMPC's highest award.

Dowd), Jessica Hecht (Veta Louise Simmons), Charles Kimbrough (William R. Chumley, M.D.), Larry Bryggman (Judge Omar Gaffney), Carol Kane (Betty Chumley), Peter Benson (E.J. Lofgren), Tracee Chimo (Myrtle Mae Simmons), Holley Fain (Ruth Kelly, R.N.), Angela Paton (Mrs. Ethel Chauvenet), Rich Sommer (Duane Wilson), Morgan Spector (Lyman Sanderson, M.D.) and directed by Scott Ellis.

Jim Parsons, who is starring in the upcoming Broadway production of Harvey, appeared on NBC's 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on yesterday, February 6th. In 1985, three former teen idols-all from the same Philadelphia neighborhood-teamed for a concert titled The Golden Boys, which not only satisfied fans from their teen era by performing their hits, but illustrated that good singing and stage presence never go out of style. Frankie Avalon, Fabian & Bobby Rydell, "The Golden Boys" from American Bandstand's heyday, have appeared together on such major TV specials as "The American Music Awards," the closing ceremonies of the "Miss Liberty Special" (viewed by over 200 million people) and the ABC Inaugural special "Command Performance: An All-Star Salute To The President."

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will examine the technology behind 'It's a Wonderful Life' on Monday, December 12 at 7 p.m. at the Academy Theater at Lighthouse International in New York City. Special guest Craig Barron, Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor, will discuss studio production methods of the era, the use of matte paintings in key scenes, and the origins of the film's sound effects. The program will also include a special introduction by Karolyn Grimes, who played Zuzu Bailey in the film, marking the first time she will present the film in New York City.
