The boys are back... with mojo! SundanceTV announced today that they will start production on season two of the network's critically-acclaimed original scripted series HAP AND LEONARD, on September 19th in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Emmy Nominated Event Series ROOTS will exclusively stream on Hulu Monday, September 15th. ROOTS is a historical portrait of American slavery recounting the journey of one family and their will to survive and ultimately carry on their legacy despite hardship.

With available time-shifted viewing data, the premiere episode of HISTORY's event series 'ROOTS' was watched by 14.4 million total linear viewers over the course of all premiere week telecasts.

The Memorial Day premiere of HISTORY's event series 'ROOTS' was watched by 5.3 million viewers, based on Nielsen Fast Nationals. Against heavy competition on both broadcast and cable, including Game 7 of the NBA Western Conference Finals, 'ROOTS' became the #1 scripted mini-series premiere on cable since 2013 (A+E Networks' 'Bonnie & Clyde'). Airing on HISTORY, Lifetime, A&E and LMN, the 9pm premiere telecast of 'ROOTS' was watched by 2.1 million adults 25-54 and 1.8 million adults 18-49. Over the course of the night, 8.5 million viewers watched the episode (3 telecasts). These numbers are expected to grow significantly once Live+3 and Live+7 data becomes available.

The event includes a sneak peek screening of the four-night, eight-hour event series before it premieres on HISTORY on Monday, May 30 at 9 p.m.

Offering a first look at the year ahead in independent film, culture and new ideas, Sundance Institute announced today the 65 films selected for the U.S. Competition, World Competition and out-of-competition NEXT category set to premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, January 21-31 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. Films that have premiered in these sections include Beasts of the Southern Wild, Fruitvale Station,Whiplash, Blackfish, The September Issue, The Cove, An Education, Animal Kingdom, Precious, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Obvious Child, Tangerine and Escape from Tomorrow.
