A CASUAL GATHERING Set for TNC's Dream Up Festival, 9/12-20

'A Casual Gathering' is a musical written by Daniel Schwartzman (book, music, lyrics) and directed by James Martinelli that explores the evolution of human relationships and the desire we all have to relive the past and use our memories to rewrite the present. Its American premiere will be presented by Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival September 12 to 20. The musical traces the intimate reunion of six high school friends in a Manhattan bar who have not seen each other for decades. After the initial joy at seeing each other again, the realities of their lives and what they have failed to achieve come to the surface.

HERO Theatre announced an upcoming presentation of 'Waiting for Lefty' by Clifford Odets that will be featured in a production titled 'An Evening of Clifford Odets: Waiting for Lefty and other Odets Classics.' 'Waiting for Lefty' will be featured in its entirety alongside scenes from Clifford Odets favorites 'Golden Boy,' 'Awake & Sing' and 'Paradise Lost.' It will be directed by Korey Jackson.
