Conductor James Conlon returns to the Metropolitan Opera to lead a revival of Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream in commemoration of the 2013 Britten centenary, with six performances beginning Friday, October 11, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. The 1996 production by Tim Albery returns to the Met after ten years, and features a cast that includes Kathleen Kim as Tytania, Erin Wall as Helena, Elizabeth DeShong as Hermia, Iestyn Davis as Oberon, Joseph Kaiser as Lysander, Michael Todd Simpson as Demetrius, Matthew Rose as Bottom, and Riley Costello as Puck.

Hartford Stage, under the leadership of Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts, announced six new and two returning members have been elected to the Tony Award-winning theatre's Board of Directors. Joining the Board for an initial two year term are Lois Anderson of Avon, Sonya D. Dockett of Avon, Judith E. Meyers of North Haven, Eric D. Ort of Farmington, Charlie Ortiz of Hartford, Esther A. Pryor of West Hartford, Judith E. Thompson of West Hartford, and John H. P. Wheat of Bloomfield.

With the success of four previous Festivals (1999, 2002, 2005, 2008), the 2011 World Festival of Sacred Music (WFSM) has established itself as one of the premiere arts festivals of Los Angeles. For 16 days and nights from today through 16, 2011, WFSM fills L.A.'s historic theaters, churches, temples and public spaces with 32 performances featuring local and international artists with disciplines ranging from sacred traditional music to contemporary dance.

Five years ago, Ted Haggard was on top of the world. He was the leader of the National Association of Evangelicals. He led 30 million Christian conservatives spread over 45,000 churches. And his organization had massive political influence, reaching all the way to the White House. Then an international scandal broke out: he was caught having a shocking sexual encounter with a male prostitute over a lengthy period of time. Pastor Haggard also revealed he had been using crystal meth. His world was turned upside down when the male prostitute went public with the secret life Haggard had been leading the controversy forced Haggard to leave his powerful position at the NAE. He, his wife Gayle (author of best-selling book 'Why I Stayed') and their five children were exiled from their hometown of Colorado Springs. For the past four years Haggard and his family have been desperately trying to rebuild their lives.
