Due to extremely high ticket demand, Second Stage Theatre's upcoming production of Jason Robert Brown's musical, The Last Five Years, has been extended for one additional week through Sunday, April 28. The highly anticipated revival will begin preview performances on March 7 and will officially open on April 2.

Due to popular demand, The Flea Theater has announced that Hamish Linklater's playwriting debut THE VANDAL will return for a limited 2 weekend run beginning March 22. The play stars Deirdre O'Connell, Zach Grenier and Noah Robbins, with direction by Jim Simpson, The Flea's founder and Artistic Director.

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today the theater's 2013-2014 season, which will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Playwright Tommy Smith returns to The Flea and once again brings you to the brink with the New York Premiere of WHITE HOT. In her directorial debut, the production will be helmed by Flea Resident Director Courtney Ulrich starring The Bats, the resident acting company at The Flea. Previews begin April 26 with opening night slated for May 7.

The Flea goes audio with the upcoming workshop production of Tommy Smith's NECTARINE EP. A sonic reverberation of Homer's The Odyssey - filtered through the lens of downtown artist Tommy Smith - the audio-fueled 'extended play', NECTARINE EP, de-stimulates the audience's perception through visual and auditory manipulation. The Old Globe received 10 San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Craig Noel Awards honoring excellence in 2012 San Diego County theater, the most wins of any theater company, at a ceremony held at the Museum of Modern Art San Diego on Feb. 4. The world premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical garnered three awards, for Outstanding New Musical, Orchestrations and Featured Performance in a Musical for Michael K. Lee. The Scottsboro Boys also earned three awards, including Outstanding Resident Musical as well as Direction of a Musical and Choreography for Susan Stroman. Jonathan Caren's The Recommendation was named Outstanding New Play. The Globe's productions of Nobody Loves You, Inherit the Wind and As You Like It each received one award.

A modern interpretation of a classic text swept its nominated categories to receive five Craig Noel Awards tonight. Moxie Theatre parlayed three strong 2012 productions to take home the Braunagel Award for outstanding contribution to the San Diego arts scene by a small-budget theatre.

More than 110 local and national theater artists representing more than 45 San Diego theatrical productions will compete for the 2012 Craig Noel Awards.
