Cellist Amos Yang To Join Faculty Of San Francisco Conservatory Of Music

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) today announces the appointment of cellist Amos Yang to its collegiate cello faculty, joining faculty members Jennifer Culp and Jean-Michel Fonteneau. Yang, currently assistant principal cello at the San Francisco Symphony, will accept students to his cello studio at SFCM starting in Fall 2018. He currently coaches string players in the Conservatory Orchestra, teaches an orchestral repertoire class, and works with young cellists in SFCM's Pre-College.

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) today announces the appointment of Grammy Award-winning pianist Garrick Ohlsson to its faculty. Awarded an honorary doctorate from the Conservatory in 2016, Ohlsson joins current SFCM piano department faculty members Yoshikazu Nagai (Chair), Jon Nakamatsu, Paul Hersh, Sharon Mann, and Corey McVicar. Ohlsson will begin teaching a studio comprised of graduate students at SFCM in Fall 2018. He will also engage in piano department activities including forums, master classes, and recitals as well as interdepartmental collaborations. Ohlsson will be a featured performer at SFCM's Centennial Gala on March 19, 2018.

Actor/director Marc Singer was a household name in the 80s with his big screen role as the Beastmaster in a series of theatrical films. He was also popular on the small screen in the series V, among others. Today he is still a working actor in demand and is a member of Group rep Theatre in NoHo where he is currently rehearsing their next production of A Midsummer Night's Dream to open November 17.
