Cleve Carney Art Gallery Presents AMY VOGEL: A PARAPERSPECTIVE, 9/4-10/25

Cleve Carney Art Gallery presents “Amy Vogel: A Paraperspective” Sept. 4 - Oct. 25. “Amy Vogel: A Paraperspective” is a collaboration between Joseph Grigely and Amy Vogel, with a catalogue essay by Joseph Grigely. The opening preview reception is Thursday, Sept. 4 from 12-2 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The gallery will also host a conversation between the artists and Anthony Elms, a 2014 Whitney Biennial curator and Associate Curator of the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. This lecture is also free and open to the public. The Canadian Opera Company Appoints Steven Kelley as Chief Communications Officer

Marking the centenary of the outbreak of WW1, Time Zone Theatre and Austrian director Pamela Schermann invited British playwrights to respond to Karl Kraus's The Last Days of Mankind. The winning play, Shoot, I didn't mean that by Catriona Kerridge, will run alongside a staging of the epilogue of Kraus's epic. The resulting double-bill aims to encourage an intercultural dialogue about global conflicts combining a play by one of the most influential Austrian playwrights of the 20th century with an emerging British talent.

Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) announces the first-ever BAM 24-Hour Movie Marathon benefiting BAM Education. Beginning at 8pm on Friday, September 5, the Steinberg Screen at the BAM Harvey Theater will host this peer-to-peer fundraiser, inspired by traditional athletic fundraisers, challenging participants to binge watch classic and modern film favorites for a full 24 hours.
