As part of the Bard's 400th anniversary celebrations, the gallery at Compton Verney in Warwickshire - which is just nine miles away from Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon - has joined forces with the RSC to create a new exhibition. SHAKESPEARE IN ART: TEMPESTS, TYRANTS AND TRAGEDY, opening next month, pays tribute to a playwright whose work has inspired countless artists over the centuries, from Sargent, Fuseli, Rossetti, Blake and Watts to Romney, Karl Weschke, Kate Tempest and Tom Hunter.

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center in Lincoln Center will present the free multimedia exhibition Alice Live! The exhibition will trace the history of Lewis Carroll's beloved Alice stories in live performance from their first professional staging through today. Alice Live! will be on display from October 2, 2015 through January 16, 2016 in The Library for the Performing Arts's Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery, Shelby Cullom Davis Museum.

LAUGH IT UP, STARE IT DOWN, a new play written by Alan Hruska (The Man on Her Mind, New House under Construction, Reunion), is directed by Chris Eigeman (known as a filmmaker for Turn The River and as an actor for roles in television's Gilmore Girls and the films Metropolitan, Barcelona, and The Last Days of Disco), and premieres at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) tonight, September 9th, 2015.

Fullcasting has been announced for Laugh It Up, Stare It Down, a new play written by Alan Hruska (The Man on Her Mind, New House under Construction, Reunion) and directed by Chris Eigeman (known as a filmmaker for Turn The River and as an actor for roles in television's Gilmore Girls and the films Metropolitan, Barcelona, and The Last Days of Disco). Laugh It Up, Stare It Down will premiere at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) beginning a limited engagement on August 26th with opening night set for September 9th.
