Just over 50 years after the release of João Gilberto's and Stan Getz's classic Grammy-winning album Getz/Gilberto (1964), and its sequel Getz/Gilberto #2

Grammy Award-winning trumpet player Chris Botti will perform with the New York Philharmonic, led by Andy Einhorn in his Philharmonic debut, Monday, April 11, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.

Saxophonist/composer/arranger Russ Nolan has been documenting his explorations of Latin rhythms and modern jazz harmony on record since the release of his 2004 debut, 'Two Colors.'

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC), in partnership with The Dance Centre, presents Words in Motion, March 18 & 19, 7:30pm, in the Telus Studio Theatre. This innovative series explores the power of words in performance - both as an agent of change, and as a means of igniting important dialogue. Vancouver-based authors Carmen Aguirre, Aislinn Hunter, and Nancy Lee pair with diverse choreographers, Anusha Fernando, Olivia C. Davies, and Paraskevas Terezakis, to interpret three renowned texts into original works.

?Two of the jazz world's brightest stars Stanley Clarke and Hiromi are to set London's most famous stage alight as they make their debut UK appearance as a duo for one night only. Longstanding collaborators, mythic bassist Stanley Clarke and Japanese jazz pianist extraordinaire Hiromi released 2009's Jazz in The Garden and 2010's The Stanley Clarke Band featuring Hiromi, the latter winning the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. Famed for their virtuoso instrumental command and explosive live performances, this is a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the revered pair at a venue to which all performers aspire.

For the first time in its distinguished history, the World Music Institute's Masters of Indian Music series presents India's violin icon L. SUBRAMANIAM, revered around the world as 'The Paganini of Indian Classical music.' Co-presented with 92Y, the concert takes place tonight, February 5 at 8:00 p.m. at 92nd Street Y.

The legendary Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will make its long-awaited Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) debut on Sunday 6 March 2016.

The Branford Marsalis Quartet was formed in 1986 and quickly raised the bar for other ensembles of its kind. The New York Times praised the group's most recent album release, Four MF's Playin' Tunes (2012), as "a knockout: hard-nosed and hyperacute, tradition-minded but modern." For this Chan Centre appearance, Branford is joined by his stellar, musically adventurous quartet featuring Joey Calderazzo on piano, Eric Revis on bass, and Justin Faulkner on drums.

The Jewish Museum will present Oran Etkin's Timbalooloo in two special concerts for families today, December 25 at 11:30 am and 2 pm. Etkin will be presenting a new production, 'Sing Sing Sing - Benny Goodman in the Kingdom of Swing,' incorporating music from Etkin's new CD for adults, What's New? Reimagining Benny Goodman, and playing it in a child-friendly way. Together with a full band, Etkin take kids on an adventure through the Kingdom of Swing, meeting King Oliver, Duke Ellington, and a little boy named Benny Goodman who grows up to become the King of Swing. Just as Benny Goodman was welcomed by the regal masters that came before him, children too are encouraged to express themselves and find their own voices in the Kingdom of Swing through this fun and interactive concert experience.

Drawing inspiration from his iconic discography, Dearly Beloved - The Music of Prince will feature newly imagined arrangements and compositions that celebrate the virtuosity of Prince with a wide range of special guests including vocalists Goapele, Frank McComb and Christie Dashiell, tap dancer/choreographer Jason Samuels Smith, poet/emcee/vocalist W. Ellington Felton and additional surprise guests. A guest DJ will spin for the pre-performance mixer and after-party.
