In his return to the New York City nightlife scene, Michael Longoria, best known for his star turn as Frankie Valli in the Tony Award Winning Broadway musical Jersey Boys, offers a free concert in his favorite part of town. The concert will feature Longoria's renditions of hits by contemporary pop artists such as Rihanna, Fun!, and Gavin DeGraw, as well as the debut of original songs from Longoria's upcoming song writing project.

The award was presented at a gala event at B.B. King on May 13 with four-time Tony Award-winning playwright and actor Harvey Fierstein, a frequent collaborator of Jerry Mitchell (and bookwriter of Kinky Boots), to emcee a tribute written by six-time Emmy Award winner Bruce Vilanch. Grammy Award-winner Cyndi Lauper, who wrote the music & lyrics for Kinky Boots, introduced a number from Kinky Boots included in the tribute. SMTC has announced their next production, the tap dancing musical sensation Thoroughly Modern Millie. Performances will take place at the intimate 300-seat Dorrance Auditorium on the beautiful campus at Phoenix Country Day School in Paradise Valley. The fun and revealing new interview premieres Friday, May 10, 2013 at 1 AM (Saturday morning) on Thirteen/PBS, and repeats in the New York metro area on CUNY TV* Saturday at 8:30 PM, Sunday at 12:30 PM, and Monday at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM.

The Drama League has announced Emmy Award winner Debra Messing will join Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce as co-host of the 79th Annual Drama League Awards. In light of KINKY BOOTS' 13 Tony nominations and the show's upcoming cast album release, it's only fitting that the musical's producers are looking beyond Broadway. According to the Daily Mail, Kinky Boots is eyeing the West End, though when the show will transfer across the pond is far from set.

The critically acclaimed La Cage aux Folles by Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Herman opens at Lakewood Theatre Company tonight, May 3, 2013 with performances continuing through June 9, 2013.
