Ramin Gray to Lead ATC As Artistic Director

Leading touring theatre company ATC has today announced the appointment of a new artistic director, following the departure of Bijan Sheibani earlier this year. Ramin Gray will take up the position in late October.

Bijan Sheibani has announced his resignation after three and a half outstanding years as artistic director of ATC, one of the UK's leading touring theatre companies. He will remain in his post until the 1st September.

The West End premiere of Douglas Carter Beane's THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED concludes April 10. The production opened January 20 at London's Garrick Theatre. The cast features film star Rupert Friend alongside Tamsin Greig, Olivier Award winner for her performance in Much Ado About Nothing with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and is directed by Jamie Lloyd. The cast also features British actors Gemma Arterton and Harry Lloyd. The play began previews January 9th.

The new version of the classic subtitled Those Who Return, translated by Rebecca Lenkiewicz (An Enemy of The People, Her Naked Skin) and directed by ATC Artistic Director Bijan Sheibani (The Brothers Size, Gone Too Far!) will star Harry Lloyd as Osvald, Suzanne Burden as Mrs Alving, Paul Hickey as Pastor Manders, Natasha Broomfield as Regine and Jim Bywater as Engstrand.

Eileen Atkins and David Haig will lead the cast in Edward Bond's black and riotous comedy, The Sea, the second production in Jonathan Kent's Haymarket Season. The Sea will run from January 17 -April 19 with press night on January 23, 2008. Designs are by Paul Brown, with lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Paul Groothuis - Kent's long term and regular collaborators who join him for the season.
