X FACTOR -- IT'S TIME TO FACE THE MUSICAL! Gets Go-Ahead at London Palladium; Slated to Begin Next Winter?

According to the Daily Mail, Harry Hill and Steve Brown's 16 million dollar new musical X Factor -- It's Time To Face The Musical! has been given the go-ahead by Stage Entertainment and Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment. Casting will commence in May, with rehearsals slated for next winter at the London Palladium.

Michael Riedel reports that Simon Cowell is hard at work on THE X FACTOR MUSICAL, which just had an invitation only workshop in London last week, starring Alexander Hanson as the infamous reality show judge. The show, with a 16 million dollar budget is being co-produced by Cowell and Stage Entertainment, and features an original score by Steve Brown and a script by Harry Hill.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced Tuesday, April 24 the nominations for its 2012 television awards. British miniseries 'Appropriate Adult,' which chronicles the real-life serial killer Fred West, leads the way with four nominations.

Taking place at the O2 Arena on Wednesday January 25th, the National Television Awards will be hosted by X Factor's Dermot O'Leary and promises to be a spectacular event. According to Deadline.com, Simon Cowell, who will soon launch his new seris 'The X Factor' in the United States, is currently working on developing a stage show based on the series. Cowell has reportedly joined forces with comedian Harry Hill and music producer Steve Brown to create the book and music for the project, which is being created to open in a West End theatre. Additional details on the premise of the musical have not not been announced.

Gareth Hale will play Scrooge in Susie McKenna and Steve Edis' adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, which is to open in the newly refurbished Arts Theatre in November this year. A Christmas Carol, produced by Tiny Tim Productions, will preview from 11 November, with the press performance on 25 November, and is booking until 10 January 2010.
