The world premiere of Barrow Hill, a first play by new playwright Jane Wainwright, starring Janet Henfrey, and directed by Abbey Wright - whose recent work includes the multi-four star production of Dublin Carol as part of the Donmar at the Trafalgar Studios season - opens at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of Sunday and Monday evening and Tuesday matinee performances today, 19 August 2012 (Press Night: Monday, 20 August 2012 at 7.30pm).

That's how ACT started off their Pinter Festival last night with their productions of "The Dumb Waiter" and "Celebration". Just outstanding storytelling and plain great theater.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Martha Lavey announced today additional casting for the 2012/13 Subscription and Steppenwolf for Young Adults seasons. Will Allan, Keith Kupferer and Lusia Strus join previously announced ensemble members Alana Arenas, Mariann Mayberry and Molly Regan, completing the cast of the season opener, Good People. The cast of the Steppenwolf for Young Adults production of The Book Thief features ensemble member Francis Guinan with Patrick Andrews, Amy J. Carle, Rob Fagin, Rae Gray, Dennis William Grimes, Nikki Klix, Ian Knox, Anthony-Jon LeSage, Clancy McCartney, Andy Monson, Mark Ulrich and Nicole Wiesner. Other additions to the 2012/13 slate include Sandra Delgado, Sandra Marquez, John Ortiz and Gary Perez in The Motherf**ker with the Hat, and Cheryl Lynn Bruce, Glenn Davis and Jacqueline Williams in Head of Passes. Edward Torres has also signed on to direct the Steppenwolf for Young Adults production of How Long Will I Cry?: Voices of Youth Violence (previously titled Oral Histories) with Artistic Consultant Kelli Simpkins.

Alan Ayckbourn Set to Direct SUGAR DADDIES at ACT This Fall

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre is pleased to announce the American premiere of lauded playwright Alan Ayckbourn's Sugar Daddies, directed by Ayckbourn himself, as one of the six mainstage selections in the 2013 Season. ACT Artistic Director Kurt Beattie invited Ayckbourn to direct during a meeting in 2011 in England. The opportunity to collaborate in person is the result of ACT's commitment to and success with Ayckbourn's work, which has engendered a lasting artistic relationship. Sugar Daddies is slated to be produced in September and October, 2013. The play will be staged in ACT's Allen Theatre, as productions in-the-round are Ayckbourn's specialty.
